All meetings of the Mendocino County Workforce Investment Board are open to the general public.
Any interested employers, residents and media representatives are welcome and encouraged to attend.
This system is intended to be customer-focused and to help Americans
access the tools they need to manage their careers.
The system is also intended to help companies find the skilled workers
they need to compete and succeed in business.
Mendocino, a California County, has been designated by the Governor
of California as a Workforce Investment Area.
The Mendocino County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is comprised of
representatives from private sector businesses, organized labor, community-based
organizations, local government agencies and local education agencies.
The Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998 provides the framework for a national workforce preparation and employment system. (Click this link to view the WIA law as an Acrobat PDF file)
The WIB is responsible for the designation of the One-Stop Operator for the Mendocino Works Employment Resource Centers, provides policy guidance and oversees the job training activities within Mendocino County.
